G.O.O.D. Music On Power 105′s The Breakfast Club

This morning, the G.O.O.D. Music crew stopped by Power 105′s The Breakfast Club to discuss its latest release Cruel Summer.

During the interview, Common, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, CyHi The Prynce and Big Sean discussed how Teyana is the hothead of the group, Pusha’s beef with Lil Wayne, Rihanna, solo albums and more.

They also addressed Kanye‘s perfectionst reputation.

Teyana:

“I think we all are. We are very anal,”

Big Sean:

“I think that made us better artists. There’s been times where I’ve rewritten verses on my own just ’cause I’d done them, went to him and he’ll point out facts and point out things to make it better. It all makes sense. He’s never made a verse worse; it only gets better. I apply that to my albums.”

Pusha T Says G.O.O.D. Music Crew “Don’t Give A Fuck What Drake Says”

Posted by djharout

The on going beef between Pusha T and Drake never seems to subside. Although Drizzy has never formally responded to Pusha T’s diss track “Exodus 23:1,” he’s not totally ignorant of the beef either. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Pusha T remained adamant the G.O.O.D. Music crew does not care what Drake says, referring in particular to an incident at Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival.

Pusha T performed at the event and had planned a special appearance from Tity Boi 2 Chainz. Tity Boi hit the stage late and wasn’t able to catch the beat due to some miscommunication. The following night during Drake’s performance, he too brought out 2 Chainz and when all went smoothly.

Drake:

“now, that’s how you bring out 2 Chainz!”

Many people took this as a shot towards Pusha T. See what Pusha T says of the incident below and his response to Drake, as taken from Rolling Stone.

Rolling Stone:

You performed the Made In America concert earlier this month. The second night, after you’d already done it, Drake says, “Now, that’s how you bring out 2 Chainz!” Some saw it as a shot. I was just wondering what everyone else is wondering, which is, what is the appropriate way to bring out 2 Chainz?

Pusha T:

“At the end of the day, I guess just speaking on our behalf we don’t give a fuck what Drake says. Like, we don’t care. In regards to us, that shit doesn’t matter. Like, if you want to talk about the G.O.O.D. Music today and 2 Chainz, we had a mishap, because we have a record that is performed by four different people every night of the week and everybody has different edits of it. Ye’s verse – where the beat switches up and it’s really chant-y – gets edited out of a lot of people’s sets. Just to keep the momentum of the song going and just keeping the show clean and concise. None of us was told, but Chainz wasn’t told that Ye wasn’t doing his portion of the record [at Made in America]. It was a mishap, man! I mean, fuck! People have mishaps. But I mean, Chainz is so fuckin’ charismatic, he just walks out. I personally would’ve just rapped his fuckin’ verse, because I heard it, but I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries because fans didn’t know he was there. So, you know, whatever. We talked about it in the back. Chainz wasn’t bitter about it. He was just like, “I could’ve knocked it out. It could’ve been crazier had I been on time with it or had I known we were doing that edit.” All of this shit is off the cuff, and all of us is all over the country, and we’re just coming together to do the Made in America festival. It was a thing of paying homage to this new festival. It was a great experience, it was a great look, being a part of something that Ye obviously wanted us to be a part of. It wasn’t a big production thing where we practiced this shit. Even I came out off-cue! I should’ve laid back a little bit, but we were rocking to it. That’s what the fuck we do we don’t give a fuck. So, if that was the way you should’ve brought 2 Chainz out laughs, then I’m glad Drake got to do it, and I’m glad that Chainz got the look, and I’m sure people were happy. Other than the shot thing, we don’t give a fuck. We definitely ain’t thinking about no shots”.

Hit-Boy Reveals Recording Parts Of “Cruel Summer” In Qatar With Kanye West

Posted by djharout
Tweet

As part of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music production company, Hit-Boy has been able to work on this month’s Cruel Summer extensively. That work has taken the producer/rapper to various places and it has also allowed him to grow as an artist. Hit-Boy recently spoke with HipHopDX about that growth, his work with Kanye West and his upcoming material with Kendrick Lamar.

Hit-Boy:

“We got to do a lot of traveling,” Hit-Boy said when asked about his experience working on G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer. “We went to London. We went to Qatar and a few different places [to work on the album]. So, just the traveling alone was amazing. Then, having the opportunity to grow with Kanye West and learn from him is a surreal experience.”

Kanye West being a perfectionist Hit-Boy recalled how Kanye wants everyone to put there best into the songs even if they had to redo the smallest tasks. I don’t blame him at all look were he has reached in music.

“You’ve gotta be fresh. You gotta be different every time,” he says of what he’s learned from Kanye. “He’s made me re-tweak beats. He’s made me rewrite verses and everything. It’s never right the first time.”

According to Hit-Boy, his work with Kendrick will be “different.” I’m wondering how it will sound its going to be some good stuff.

“Kendrick Lamar, man. We’ve got a really crazy record together. He’s spazzing on it. It’s club. It’s radio. It’s Hip Hop. I’m hyped about that…He’s swaggin’. It’s different from Kendrick, for sure.”
